Tommy Lee Burned During Wyo. Concert

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee suffered minor burns on his arms and face during a pyrotechnics explosion at a concert in Casper, Wyo., his publicist said.

Lee was treated at a hospital and was expected to fully recover from the injuries, which occurred while he was suspended 30 feet above the stage, according to a statement from his publicist, Dvora Vener Englefield.

"He didn't look good while the paramedics were treating him backstage, so we chose to err on the side of caution and send him to the hospital," Motley Crue singer Vince Neil said in the statement.

The 43-year-old drummer, who was injured toward the end of the band's set, played one more song before the concert was cut short, said Sgt. Doug Beran of the Casper Police Department said.

Tom Morton, a reporter for the Casper Star-Tribune, said Lee appeared to be injured when sparks began flying as he swung above the stage suspended from a wire, back and forth among several drum sets.

Motley Crue had performances scheduled Friday in Bismarck, N.D.; Saturday in Rapid City, S.D.; and Sunday in Sioux City, Iowa, according to the band's Web site. No shows will be canceled, the publicist said.

One hundred people died in February 2003 when pyrotechnics sparked a blaze at a West Warwick, R.I., club where the rock band Great White was performing.
